I am seeing pricing popping up around the pricing of the new Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid in Ireland. This is the upgrade from the base spec Tenere, which has been around for a few years. 3 or so by now. Moreover, Yamaha finally sneaks in some electronics as seen in the list of changes compared to the old model.
Watch this video to know what you get for the money you want to spend.
The original T7 concept prototype is where this motorcycle came from. Yamaha first teased this version at 2021 EICMA, but more recently, I saw some YT content around the design patents that Yamaha had officially filed. And, yeah, this looks pretty much like the drawings in that.
World Raid Features
The main idea of the new Tenere is that it is long-distance ready. To make it ready for this, changes mainly include:
- 23-litre capacity dual side-mounted fuel tanks (Bigger, but not as low as the KTM 890 Adventure)
- Flat Rally inspired 2-piece seat
- 5” colour TFT meter with mobile connectivity
- 3-mode switchable ABS
- High specification 43 mm KYB front forks, 230 mm travel
- Öhlins adjustable steering damper
- Aluminium piggyback rear shock, longer 220 mm travel
- High-torque EU5 CP2 engine
- Newly designed air cleaner box
So the changes that have gone in are more than just cosmetic changes.
Yamaha’s Tenere does not have many rivals in this range, but what people want (at least a section of them) is a version that is truly a challenger to the KTM Enduro 690 R, mostly in the weight department. Around 30- 40 kilograms lighter, would help bridge that gap which is sitting around the 50kg mark.
Cost of the World Raid in Ireland?
Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid has been seen advertised at around the EUR 13,800 mark here in Ireland. I am thinking around EUR 14,500 is a good bet by the time you get it home?
Maybe yes, maybe more.
If anyone is getting one, let me know!
