Technical Partners

For 2007, Libra Racing will be the technical partners for the Group D CBZ. They will be taking over from my long time friend and mechanic Yousuf, Bangalore Motorcycle Works.

Libra Racing

Chennai based privateer team Libra Racing will be developing the CBZ for the group D Nationals for me this year. Run by Mr. Singaram, Libra Racing was a team in its prime in between 1984-91 when it won the maximum number of championships. The team resurfaced again last year, fielding the trio ofprivateer riders Emmanuel Jebaraj, Vinoth K and Deepak R. Between them they took, 2  wins and a second runner up spot in the National Championships in various classes.

For 2007, the team will consist of more privateers Abhijith Rao, Bala Vijay and Rajini P in addition to Emmanuel Jebaraj, Deepak R and Vinoth K. For this year, the team will be participating in the Group D 125cc, Group D 160cc, Group B 160cc and the Group B 250cc classes. All the classes are 4 stroke classes, with the team fielding the Hero Honda machines Glamour, CBZ, CBZ Extreme and Karizma.

More details on the team to follow, watch this space.

Motorcycle Road Racing classes for 2007 (Updated)

The Motorcycle Road Racing classes for 2007 which have been announced. Interesting to note that the 160-250cc 4 stroke class is brought back this year after being dropped for 2006. This could be due to the fact that the Hero Honda Karizmas that run in this class have a more realistic competition in the form of the newly release Bajaj Pulsar 220 FI. This is a class open to anyone and not split between novices and experts.

The release of this classification also means that the much awaited Royal Enfield, RD350 and Superbike classes will not be running as a part of the National Championship. Rumours abound that these classes will be running in a separate junior championship, but not clear at the moment.

More information as we get it!
