2007 BMW R1200GS specifications

Why am I collating the 2007 BMW R1200GS specifications, which is now a 15-year-old motorcycle in 2023? Because the 2007 BMW R1200GS is now my latest motorcycle. When I started looking for a motorcycle to add on, it had to be the 1150 GS or the (K25) BMW R1200GS. Either of these motorcycles is a true icon of adventure motorcycling. So, I eventually ended up with a bike from 2007, though the 2014 Adventure was something I had looked at.

As one of the most popular and revered motorcycles in its class, the R1200GS has captured the hearts of riders worldwide with its unrivalled combination of versatility, power, and reliability, and this two-wheeled marvel has redefined what it means to explore the unknown, pushing the boundaries of adventure to new heights.

Furthermore, modern motorcycles boast an array of cutting-edge technology and rider aids. Returning to riding after many years, the bike comes equipped with a few things and not too many electronic aids. BMW’s renowned ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) enhances safety and ensure optimal traction in varying road conditions. But for me, features such as an adjustable windshield, heated grips, and a comfortable seating position make long rides a pleasurable experience, enabling me to explore for hours without fatigue. Yeah, I am getting old.

Long-distance travel comfort for the pillion passenger is taken to greater heights by a new seat, a heated backrest and comfortable armrests. Also found on the list of standard equipment: LED auxiliary headlights, adaptive xenon headlight, Tire Pressure Monitor, additional brake light, engine protection bar, floor lighting, as well as LED daytime running light and, for the first time on a BMW motorcycle, Keyless Ride. Starting  off a new series called 9 Photos. We will be curating pictures of motorcycles that move us and / or have great work put into them.

I am starting this with 9 photos of BMW R nineT that truly capture its essence. In a year where cafe racers have been taking a more mainstream role, its great that BMW has finally released what seems like a lovely motorcycle.  With touring options no less, so as to be eligible for our blog! I can see myself on a solo journey on various back roads on a motorcycle like this!

BMW Motorrad celebrates its 90th anniversary in the BMW Museum. World premiere of the new BMW R nineT.

On Wednesday October 16th 2013 the BMW Museum in Munich provided a worthy setting for a very special anniversary in the company history of BMW AG: 90 years of BMW Motorrad. The climax of the event was the world premiere of the BMW R nineT.

New BMW R 1200 GS Adventure 2014!

The arrival of the new BMW R 1200 GS Adventure 2014 heralds the beginning of a new chapter in the success story of BMW Motorrad’s large, boxer-engine GS models that dates back more than 30 years. Since its debut in 2005, the big GS Adventure has been firmly established as the definitive machine for long-distance travel.
