Buy a Suzuki online

Suzuki and Snapdeal go click, pay, deliver route

Suzuki and Snapdeal signed a deal for to sell two-wheelers online on Snapdeal. Customers offered free vehicle insurance for 1 year. I found this interesting and bounced off the news with a non-motorcycle co-worker.

The first thing he said was “Of all the things, why Snaapdeal man?” What did I say? Well…

Suzuki and Snapdeal deal

I honestly did not have an answer for him. I would have liked to see a purchase option rolled into the Suzuki India website for more customer confidence.

But hey, what do I know. It’s clear that this has been the type of thinking that has Suzuki slowly creeping up through the ranks. Just a few days ago,  Suzuki Motor Corporation, reported a steady 15% sequential increase in their October 2015. That sales figures as compared to September 2015. Their Gixxers crossed the mark of 10,000 units in overall sales.

Not bad, I don’t think I give Suzuki India enough credit.

How to do the Suzuki and Snapdeal deal?

  • Browse Suzuki products on the Snapdeal Motors platform
  • Select a vehicle
  • Book it (via online payment of booking amount)
  • Select a dealership in their vicinity  and
  • Pick your Suzuki up.

What Suzuki says is…

As an initial launch offer, buyers who purchase Suzuki vehicles on Snapdeal can avail 1 year free vehicle insurance.

According to Mr. Masayoshi Ito, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt Ltd., “A tie up with an online giant like Snapdeal was a logical choice for Suzuki as internet and e-commerce is starting to become a popular channel in India. We are sure that this collaboration will be profitable for Snapdeal, Suzuki and our customers.”

Tony Navin, Senior Vice President, Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Snapdeal said, “We are excited about having Suzuki two wheelers on our newly launched Snapdeal Motors platform. Our motors platform has been specifically designed to provide the most hassle free auto loan application process to all our customers.”

Not clear if the offer extends to the imports too.

Now back, I really cannot see why this cannot be done in a way that the final motorcycle is delivered to the buyers home. Something they really need to consider and work towards. I have a few thoughts, but then I’m not really in the free consulting mood at 2 a.m in the morning.

I really hope SnapDeal does not screw this up. So, that I can tell my co-worker who asked me the question, “That’s why”.
