Ripping up Mysore road to Talkaad

Talkaad is a place off the Bangalore-Mysore highway and I on the shores of the river Kaveri. It is a place which has a lot of folklore going for it and a very interesting history. For a jist of what the place is about, its a beach on a river shore!!! 🙂 Yeah, a queen in days gone by cursed an army of soldiers which was in pursuit and they became sand. Every year the temples get covered by the sand and need to excavated continuously.

Ok! Why did we go to Talkaad? The Bangalore-Mysore highway is fast and winding.!! 🙂 The trip was an absolute blast, and was about 300kms in all. I have posted the write up by Aditya.

Ride on and read on!

WHOOAAAAA ! mannn !!! It was one of the best days i ever had doing a ride.. !! I think this was one of the longest i’ve done on my baby !!

The road was pretty amazing! Abhi, Chris, Sanju and myself were doing a really FAST and LONG run! It was an amazing sight! 4 RD guys doing 100+ speeds in Tandem! Abhi was leading the way and was leaning into the curves like crazy! That gave the rest of us the josh to lean in more. All three of us would overtake him on the straights and on every curve we could hear him hissing past us!!

We then reached Talkaad and passed by some pretty rough terrain to get there ! but it was still fun!

When we got to Talkaad we sat around and relaxed for a while ! then it began to pour and we got some shelter and waited for it to stop! Soon as it stopped we had a really great lunch the guys out there get you everything from Fresh fish to Anna Sambar!

And as we were finishing our lunch it began to rain again and this time it was pretty bad!
So we decided to leave in the rain ! We went through the slush and the bad roads and puddles ! getting our bikes and ourselves spray-painted with the excellent mechanism on Sanju’s bike (it seems he cut off the Rajdoot part from his mud guard flap! )

Infact on the way back I had a flat rear tyre and I also ran out of gas. But the guys were there to help so we got a mechanic to remove the wheel and took it to a puncture guy and got it fixed. Was lucky to not get stuck in some slushy muddy area and when daylight still prevailed !

Anyways this was some of the best fun i’ve ever had We should definetly do some more trips like this !
