Ride to Nandi Hills – and visiting junkies.

After doing the drag meet for the previous weekened everyone itched for a longer ride somehwer this weekened. So what better a place than our very own Nandi Hills that’s the average Bangalorean’s one day getaway. The weather was perfect for a day in the rainy season and we left with just one thing in mind, to have some fun.

That we did in full earnest and we got some clear roads too to do some serious peg scraping and high speed runs. After reaching the top, we decided that it was a bit too crowded and the usual spot somewhere half way down would be the best place to just chill out. After buying some stuff to drink and eat, we left to that place and stayed there for quite sometime. Madhu entertained us all with his wonderful biking stories.

After that it was time again to hit out to comeback to Bangalore. We all rode back together and then split up near the outskirts of Bangalore to go our own ways. Decided to stop off at the rehab in which Madhu works. The work does need a lot of dedication and effort, to bring back those people to normal. The place can be pretty intimidating and anyone who plans to take up drugs needs to be sent there once before. Then the problem of having to drag the person against his/her will into that place would be out of question later.

Let me just write a few lines about myself that day. The cafe racer styled single seat that I am building is still in its developmental stages. As is the clip on styled low handle bars. For those of you who don’t know the approach road to Nandi Hills after turning off from the highway, it resembles a blown mine field. Since the seat is still being developed, it has no cushion and all it has is a temporary thermocol sheet on it to give padding. That was the day I realised what they call, ball-slappers. Had to do the stretches both ways standing, or rather crouching over the low handle bars to protect the err.. ahem.. forget it. 😉

The guys who could make it to the ride this time around were Suresh(motorbreath), Madhu(stormsearcher), Chirstopher, Tom and his friend, Suhas(spiritual_salad) and myself.
