I know what you are thinking… That its April 1st and I am trying to pull a fast one. Nopes, I am not. Bajaj Pulsar 180 did make a race debut in a single make, 24hrs race in Mexico. With the number of crazy Pulsar enthusiasts it would be so fantastic to have a similar event here in India. Continue reading Never seen a Bajaj Pulsar raced on a race track?
Its GREEN, but its not a Kawasaki
What I realized on this ride was that Mallus most often ridiculed for their pronunciations of words were ironically very particular about the pronounciation of Munnar. Every place I stopped for directions, I would say Munnar, only to be corrected and then given directions. It’s pronounced as Moonaar, for those who don’t want to go through this. FirstGear Mesh-Tex 2 Jacket
This is the review of the FirstGear Mesh-Tex 2 Jacket which I borrowed for for a track day.
This is a great jacket for India because of the mesh material of which it’s made. It keeps the person wearing it really cool in hot weather as air passes through it.
It’s almost like wearing only a T-shirt and riding. It comes with padding at the standard places. I used it on the track for a track day and the Velcro lined straps on the arms make the jacket adjustable to just about anyone and keeps the jacket in place without buffeting around.
The jacket actually comes with a liner, which is supposed to provide good wind break and keep the rider relatively warm. But I never got a chance to test it as I didn’t take that from Sam while taking the jacket. So, I can’t really comment on that. If you plan to wear this jacket early mornings or late nights better take a sweater or fleece along as it can get really chilly without it.
This is a great buy for anyone in the tropical climates like in India. Felt bad returning the jacket!

Speed Run 2006, Bangalore
Jakkur Airstrip, Bangalore
Feb 22 – 23, 2006
Speed Run 2006 was held at Jakkur. This event saw a number of amateurs bringing in their machines from other cities to participate. Whatever their results, this surely is a good sign that motorsport still stands a chance in the hazy world of politics and cheating.
And sorry guys, no RD snaps here… I have taken a few more snaps with another camera… Will upload as soon as I get them.

Oxtar TCS Race boot
I had an opportunity to try out an Oxtar TCS once and that convinced me to buy this Oxtar TCS Race boot. It is basically the same model, but with the Gore-Tex liner to make it completely waterproof. The boot is breathable due to a material called Airtex which allows the feet to remain relatively cool. You won’t feel like you have to jump out of them every time you stop riding. To help that, it has a couple of air inlets too.
