Royal Enfields for all these years have been constrained by the unavailability of tyre options for their machines in the Indian market. Other than the age old 3.5” square profiled MRF Nylogrip cross thread for the rear and the ribbed 3.00” front tyre we have no options like the AVON tyres that are on the export models of Royal Enfield. 2007 Raid De Himalaya
The 9th Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya 2007 will run between the 4th and 13th of October 2007.
The 2007 Raid de Himalaya 2007 will run two versions, concurrently, as in the last five years, the X-Treme and the Adventure Trial. The reliability trial is renamed the “Adventure trial” as it has grown to be much more than just a test of machine reliability.
With the success of the “Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya” over 8 consecutive years, Himalayan Motor sport has been attentive to requests from motoring enthusiasts all over India for a car rally having a lower level of competition, stress and difficulty; but one which would allow the adventurous to enjoy the real Himalayas in a stock car, without the expensive modifications that rally cars are compulsorily subject to.
More importantly, the idea is to enjoy the vast cultural heritage of a land that is exotic, beautiful and awe inspiring to say the least; without having to sacrifice the family car in the attempt! At the same time it is necessary to introduce an element of competitiveness that would make this rally much more than a tour.
Remember, entries are open from May 1st and pay early to save some money!
I had some quick links to the Raid which were relevant at the time, but the sources have disappeared with time.
