Royal Enfield has built a really good looking motorcycle with the new Royal Enfield Continental GT. Having gotten that out of the way, let me first touch upon how I happened to take a test ride on it. I landed up at the Royal Enfield Brand Store near my parents house with an intention of getting a test ride on the new Royal Enfield Bullet 500, the one with the carb.
The brand store did not have one available and since I had started filling out the form, I decided to ride this thing.
The next leg of the ride was through the state of Gujarat. Riding through this state was a transit to get to Maharastra. We broke the journey into a two-day ride-through – Udaipur to Baroda on the first and Baroda to Dadra on the next.

United Motors International, US based innovative motorcycle brand is set to enter India with UM Motorcycles at this year’s Auto Expo in Delhi. They have formed a company named UM India Two Wheelers Private Limited. The company will exhibit a few of their latest state-of-art products at the Auto Expo to gauge consumer’s reaction. That will help them formulate their launch strategy.
This new “Gixxer” is Suzuki’s flagship model for the Indian market. This now “boasts a pioneering style & sophisticated appearance, combined with exceptional riding performance and the best fuel economy in its class, for the Indian market.” That shows that this motorcycle does not have much in common with the typical Gixxers of the world but for the name.

Triumph motorcycle store opens in Bangalore today. Later, in the evening, with much fan fare and music by Thermal and a Quarter, the first owners of each of the models across all the categories were invited onto stage and handed over a ceremonial key. Triumph currently have 50 bookings with their Bangalore dealer.
