Formula 1 Carnauba Wax is a great product that I have been using for a while now to shine up the vehicles. Yeah, I know seeing my motorcycles shining are as rare as spotting an honest policeman, but, I do shine them up once in a while when I need some exercise. 😛
I’ve found a simple way to make the most of this wax, shine up the vehicles with the least amount of strain.
- I first give the motorcycles a good water wash, with some soap. Get off all the greasy stuff, especially if you own one of those oil leaking Royal Enfields, this is all the more necessary. (As a side note: If your RE isn’t leaking oil, please get it checked)
- Then, apply the wax, using the sponge that they’ve provided, on all the parts that you wish to shine. You do not need to be too liberal with the amount of wax that you use. I just wet the sponge and hence the wax during this step in the process with a little water.
- Then wait till it dries and just wipe the wax away in smooth actions using a soft cloth. Believe me old Baniyans rock in this department
- Your done! Now you can get back to the beer and TV go out on a path breaking ride or atleast dream about it.
That’s the best part about it. You do not have to sit and rub like there’s no tomorrow and does a very decent job of shining up the vehicle.
Formula 1 is supposed to contain advanced micropolishers to remove minor scratches and haze while doing its core job of making the vehicle shine.

2007 Update
The wax is still going strong and I own one of those leaky Royal Enfields amongst others. Watch out for fakes, I’ve heard they’ve become available. Must be due to the fact that you get to see this wax almost everywhere, the bane of being a popular brand.
2013 Update
I still continue to use this whenever I feel like polishing the motorcycle. It still works like a charm! This picture was taken on 31 Aug 2013
