Rides that are a weekend long. Usually stuff that can be managed without taking additional time off.

Wild Valley Farm on 2013 Deepavali weekend (3 of 3)

Woke up early on the third day at the Wild Valley Farm and from yesterday’s experience, I knew Snoopy would be around in one of the tents. What better companion than Snoopy, since we all need a small, vicious dog to protect us in the wild. Since I still had sometime for the sunrise, I walked around a bit. I went to the edge of the property to see if I could figure out what the sound from last night was. But, no luck. Snoopy, had gone back to sleep, probably a more intelligent decision. (Read Day 1 and Day 2 before this, if you missed it.)

Wild Valley on 2013 Deepavali weekend (2 of 3)

On Saturday we woke up to a cloudy morning. It had been raining pretty much all last night. I had to get up mid-night to make sure that there were not any equipment that was getting wet. The tents are on a concrete base, so that’s good in a way. I had got most of the stuff onto some of the chair’s I lifted off from near the campfire, so everything was dry. I just had to move Kavitha’s cot a little to make sure that the drip from the lone hole in the tent’s canopy did not drip on to the bed. We slept really well that night, listen to the sound of rain on the tent. This is what we woke up to, a lovely foggy sunrise. (Read Day 1, before this if you missed it.)

Wild Valley on 2013 Deepavali weekend (1 of 3)

I was supposed to be travelling out of the country this weekend. But, due to a reschedule request from the client’s end, I ended up with a bunch of neatly ironed formal clothes, and no plans. I planned to vegetate plugging my ears shut with good earplugs. Kavitha made alternate plans and I was surprised that we actually got space at Wild Valley. This is a place that’s been visited by most of the people in our riding circle. I’d missed almost every ride to this place over the years. Continue reading Wild Valley on 2013 Deepavali weekend (1 of 3)

RTMC 12A Event Report

Rolling Thunder’s 12th anniversary was held near Bagalkot at Kanthi Resorts. We missed meeting the pack at the start point having slept through the alarm. Luckily I had a backup plan in place. My alarm which was meant to be the get out of home alarm! We got ready as quickly as we could and headed towards the first regroup point which was also breakfast point about 100 km from home. Once we caught up we rode with the pack most of the way. We fell behind in places when we stopped to make pictures (like the one above) and caught up at regular intervals.

Off the internet; riding for a bit.

We’re heading off on the highway, riding for a bit on the motorcycle. Will be riding with Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club for the 12th anniversary meet. So, I am not sure if we’ll be updating our blog for a couple of days.

However, I hope to come back worth some good photos and report next week. In other news before I head off, I got my first android device, after years with an iPhone. Will see if I can update on the road like this post. This happens to be my first complete post from a mobile phone.

We’ll be in the general Hubli area. So if you’re in the vicinity give me a buzz from the contact us page.

Be good till then and rubber side down!
