“BrokeTraveler on his motorcycle journey to the North East” said the invite. And, followed by sorry for the short notice. Damn.
Sarath Shenoy, a.k.a the #broketraveler shared his story about his motorcycle journey from Bangalore to the North East of India & back. And yes, one other country on a short day trip, Burma.
I dropped in at the Moto Store & Cafe to hear his story last night and it was entertaining.
Listen to the BrokeTraveler
When someone has been out on a long trip and shares it quickly, there is so much more to it. It was fun to hear about the small situations and the nitty-gritty about how it is to cross borders into Burma.
Fun Trivia: In Burma, you ride on the right side of the road. You may have known that. But did you know that most people who did not know his name called him “Mojo Waale Bhaiyya”? That is harhar at many levels.
He has plenty of video and images and I guess Mahindra will use it as promotional material as days go by. Expect to see it sometime in the future.
Touring Mahindra Mojo
This was the motorcycle that he has been on tour.
Good
- Looks much bigger than on pictures.
- The gold tinted fork looks really good.
Bad
- It is as front heavy a design as it looks on pictures.
- The two gold tubes under the fuel tank are overkill. Like men in Scorpios wearing gold bracelets and white linen. A can of spray paint can kill that.
I have not ridden one as yet, so I think I will reserve my thoughts on that. Of the lot, I think my preference for the colors of the Mojo
Of the lot, I think my preference for the colors of the Mojo is:
- Red and White (no gold tubes here, thankfully)
- White
- Black
I hoping to get a ride sometime on it. Let us see how Sarath’s schedule is since he’s off to India Bike Week.
