Auto Expo 2014 – Round up

Everything you need to know from Auto Expo 2014 in New Delhi. This is a consolidated list of new interesting launches and prototypes from New Delhi.

Feel free to contact us and send any pictures that you’ve taken at the expo to be featured here.

Bajaj

The Pulsar 400s

Bajaj released two 375cc motorcycles at Auto Expo 2014. They share the KTM 390 platform, like what Bajaj did with the Pulsar 200. They look pretty brilliant!

Both in naked (CS 400) and…

as a full fairing (SS 400).

Harley Davidson

Street 750

Harley Davidson has been displaying the Street 750cc for a while now. At Auto Expo 2014, they finally announced the pricing, it seems like there will be more Harleys out on the road now.

Pricing for the 750cc Harley is 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom in Delhi). Add a good 10-15% or more for other cities.

Hero

Hero Motocorp unveiled Hastur 600cc motorcycle that is powered by a water-cooled parallel twin with peak power of 80PS @9600 rpm.

Hero also had he HX250R, a proper Buell race bike on display at Auto Expo 2014, and, brace-for-it, a Cafe Racer version of the Splendor. To spare you people from that torture, I did not post any picture of it. All I can do it wonder “Why?!!” in silence.

Honda

CBR650F

Honda released the CBR650F. Reminds me of the old Thunderace etc, when Sportbikes did not have to me uncomfortable. This seems like a  good balance between power and comfort.

Honda also had the previously launched CBR500R (a worldwide 2013 model) which is a parallel twin motorcycle. Honda says that bookings etc will start later this year. They also upgraded the Activa, now to 125cc.

Other products on display were the MotoGP machine RC213V,  giant sized touring bike Goldwing and a scooter PCX125.

Hyosung

Hyosung had the 250s on display, the GTR, GTN and GV on display.

KTM

Not attending the expo. So, no additional news about the full fairing version of the KTM 390, the KTM RC 390

Suzuki

4 new models

Suzuki unveiled the much awaited motorcycles V Strom 1000, Inazuma and Gixxer along with scooter Let’s at the 12th Auto Expo.

The V Strom 1000 ABS strengthens SMIL’s presence in the super premium big bike segment and is an addition to Suzuki’s portfolio of superbikes in India. Inazuma is an electrifying 250cc offering which also marks Suzuki’s foray into the premium bike segment.

TVS

TVS as usual had a good looking 250cc prototype, called Draken. It has slim chances of making it to production like most other TVS prototypes.

Piaggio

Launched the Vespa 946, which is expected to go on sale in a month or two. The scooter which will be sold only through bookings due to it being a CBU, will be priced in the range of Rs 1.4 lakh and Rs 1.7 lakh. Ok, thanks.

They also had a range of Aprilia and Moto Guzzi on display. Nothing newly introduced.

Yamaha

R25 Concept

Yamaha had the R25 concept on display. In full MotoGP colors none the less.

    1. Roger, the Harleys, KTM, Triumph, Renegade(?) and Honda are available in USA too. Which one were you specifically talking about?

      1. I was replying/responding to The Renegade = Commando. The USA needs a budget Bike that will do 99% of what we expect Motor Cycles to do ….
