The Yamaha Motor India Managing Director, T Ishikawa, has gone to press stating that Yamaha India may shut shop if the revival does not go according to plan. The Financial Express reports that, they havea signed notice to the staff dated the 17th of February 2007.
The MD stated that the management is closely monitoring the new marketing strategy and productivity of manufacturing and if either of them do not go according to plan, they are ready to shut shop. The company has already in the recent past lost several of the top management like VP finance Sunil Vadhera, marketing head Atul Gupta, and head of manufacturing Rajiv Agrawal.
Looks like the brand to lust for in the 80’s-90s is really on their way down. Time for Yamaha to wake up and bring back bikes equivalent the ones which made them great in that era.
